An alphabetical index to University of Virginia students who attended between 1874 and 1883. Each card lists name, year of birth, home, and years of attendance. At a later date a few of the cards were initialled "C" for college, "L" for law, and "M" for medicine. The information appears to have been taken either from the matriculation books or the University catalogs . The files for the letters "A" and "B" also contain cards for students who attended between 1825 and 1872. The cards contain similar information on the students together with degrees earned, and were probably taken from Schele de Vere's Students of the University of Virginia : a semi-centennial catalogue with brief biographical sketches.
